Image-checked reading edition; spacing normalized. Unicode rendering retains CRMS runtime names and extensions—it is not standalone modern APL syntax.

About the reconstruction

ngn/apl 0.1.15 evaluates the APL expressions. A browser runner supplies CRMS branching, input/output, and a replacement random stream. Both archived games reproduce all 116 observed numerical state fields with compatible inferred rolls.

Historical behavior is retained, including the missing check for negative planting acreage. Terminal editing, system commands, and byte-exact printer layout are not emulated.

Contato proposes that a University of Calgary APL version preceded Dyment’s FOCAL adaptation and was encountered by Dyment at Calgary; CRMS may descend from that earlier APL lineage. This is a historical hypothesis, not a verified transmission chain.
